Khandala Hill Station

Khandala is a Hill Station in Maharashtra India, located at a height of 625 meters on the western slopes of the sahyadri mountain range. Khandala is at distance of 101 km from Mumbai a city of India. Khandala is a small hill station as compared to Lonavala but it is blessed with bounding Natural beauty. Lonavala and Khandala are the two hill stations nearby to Mumbai but stands still unaffected by Modern Industrialization. Khandala is difficult to climb but once you have been reached there you feel your trouble is worthwhile. One can fall in love with the Scenic beauty here. The best time to visit Khandala is from October to May.

Main places in Khandala are-
Amrutanjan point- this is at the beginning of Khandala and at the end of first slope. Here there is a huge hoarding of amrutanjan, and lot of flat space. The view of valley and dukes nose is breath taking. Beyond this one can see city of khopoli.
Kune falls – is a place in between Lonavala and Khandala, here this water falls down from a height of more than 1000 feet, one can have bath in he water that flows through the valley.
Tiger’s Leap - if one looks at the spot carefully, it looks as if a tiger is leaping into the valley. That’s why this spot got the name tiger’s leap.
Sakur Plateau – this plateau is on the way to Ambavane village. This plateau is mounting at a distance of approximately 4 miles and height of 1000 feet.
Monkey hill – is a well known picnic spot in Khandala and is situated exactly above Khopoli
